Chartered Surveyor – Estates Surveyor (MRICS)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Estates Surveyor (MRICS) to join our professional property team in Carlisle. This temporary six‑month position offers the chance to influence the strategic management of a diverse property portfolio and deliver innovative asset‑management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on property acquisition, disposal and asset‑management casework.
• Conduct asset valuations for financial reporting and support decision‑making.
• Implement the Corporate Landlord model in line with organisational asset‑management plans.
• Manage the investment portfolio to maximise rental income and identify regeneration opportunities.
• Evaluate project plans, manage corporate risks and develop acquisition/disposal strategies.
• Prepare detailed reports and briefings for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or progressing towards APC completion.
• Compliance with RICS CPD requirements.
• Strong knowledge of asset‑management planning and experience managing consultants or contractors.
• Proven ability to negotiate with senior stakeholders and the public.
• Excellent formal report‑writing skills and a deadline‑driven approach.
• Resilient, assertive and able to resolve complex property challenges.

What we offer

• Competitive daily rate of £350‑£400.
• Fixed‑term contract for 6 months (full‑time, 37 hours/week).
• On‑site role based in Carlisle, North West England.
