CNC Programmer – 4 Day Week

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a leading precision engineering company in Southampton. The role focuses on 4‑ and 5‑axis machining of high‑quality components for demanding sectors, offering a supportive team and a 4‑day work week.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC machining centres (Fanuc and Haas).
• Write, edit and optimise CNC programmes to meet engineering drawings.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, verniers and other precision equipment.
• Adjust wear offsets and perform deburring or assembly as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, Setter or Operator.
• Strong knowledge of 4th and 5th axis machining.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Ability to write and modify Fanuc programmes.
• Ability to write and modify Haas programmes.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (advantageous).
• Competence using precision inspection tools.
