Communal Spaces Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Communal Spaces Specialist to join our Neighbourhoods team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for inspecting general‑needs communal buildings, ensuring they meet health and safety standards, and delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of communal areas, report hazards and arrange repairs.
• Enforce tenancy agreements and support compliance activities within the Neighbourhood team.
• Identify and deliver improvements to shared spaces, working with internal teams and customers.
• Engage with the budget setting process to determine funding needs.
• Provide excellent customer service, listening to and acting on customer feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to deliver neighbourhood initiatives.
• Represent the organisation in external partnerships and act as an ambassador for customers.

Required profile

• Knowledge of housing regulations and related legislation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot safety hazards.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive approach to safeguarding, vulnerabilities and reasonable adjustments.
