Communications Officer (Engagement and Events)

About the role
The Communications Officer (Engagement and Events) will support the Trust’s strategic refresh by delivering a range of engagement activities for internal and external audiences. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the role blends event management, communications, and administrative duties.
Key responsibilities
- Support planning and delivery of an annual programme of strategic events and visits.
- Plan, manage and deliver the annual Staff Awards event and nomination process.
- Plan, manage and deliver the annual Members Day event in collaboration with senior colleagues.
- Monitor event budgets and ensure expenditures stay within agreed limits.
- Liaise with third‑party suppliers to meet timelines and budget requirements.
- Assist with transport, set‑up, and logistics for displays and venues.
- Create compelling content for staff bulletins, newsletters, intranet and website.
- Maintain the Trust’s membership and stakeholder databases and handle related queries.
- Manage distribution of newsletters, leaflets and publications, including those for CQC inspections.
- Support the Communications & Engagement team’s monthly planning grid and cross‑team information sharing.
- Assist with purchase order requisitions and timely invoice payment.
Required profile
- Proven experience planning and delivering successful events.
- Demonstrated ability to produce engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to collaborate with staff at all levels, from frontline clinicians to executive board members.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience using design tools such as Canva.
