Community Dietitian – Home and Clinical Settings

About the role

The position provides a dietetic service to patients across Lanarkshire, rotating between acute and community settings, including patients' homes, inpatient wards and outpatient clinics. The focus is on nutritional support for a variety of conditions such as GI disorders, obesity and enteral feeding.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nutrition treatment programmes using appropriate assessment techniques and equipment.
• Provide clinical support, act on behalf of team leaders for operational issues and represent the service at meetings.
• Develop care pathways, deliver training to health and social care colleagues and dietetic students.
• Prescribe nutritional products, manage diet therapy ordering system and ensure patients receive required supplies.

Required profile

• Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC registration.
• Excellent team‑working, initiative, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective time‑management and basic IT knowledge.

Required skills

• Use of nutritional assessment techniques and equipment.
• Prescribing and advising on nutritional products and enteral feeds.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional codes.
