Construction Manager – High‑Profile Science & Research Projects

About the role

Walter Lilly is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of state‑of‑the‑art science and research facilities across London and the South East. You will oversee complex, high‑profile projects from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations on complex science and technology construction projects.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and on‑site teams to achieve efficient delivery.
• Ensure all works comply with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Monitor programme performance, identify risks and proactively address delays or site challenges.
• Drive high‑quality workmanship and maintain rigorous quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction of specialised scientific or research facilities.
• Ability to oversee projects from pre‑construction to completion while meeting safety, budget and schedule targets.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Commitment to delivering high‑performance environments and specialist services.
