Contingency Housing Officer – Temporary (Altrincham)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Contingency Housing Officer to join our team in Altrincham on a temporary basis. In this role you will help individuals and families secure safe, temporary accommodation and provide essential advice and support.

Key responsibilities

• Assess clients’ housing needs and deliver tailored advice.
• Coordinate temporary housing placements and related support services.
• Work closely with local authorities, charities and housing providers to arrange accommodations.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
• Conduct follow‑up contacts to ensure ongoing support and client satisfaction.
• Promote awareness of available housing options and resources.

Required profile

• Previous experience in housing services, social work or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and compassionate approach.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
