About the role

The Corporate Banking Associate in Metals & Mining (UK Industrials) supports senior bankers in originating and executing capital‑structure and corporate‑finance transactions for the world’s largest metal producers and miners. The role blends relationship management, analytical support, and risk assessment across Citi’s product set.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior bankers to manage global M&M client relationships and provide sector expertise.
• Participate in deal teams for episodic financing and strategic corporate‑finance transactions.
• Conduct credit analysis, risk assessment, and periodic reviews of financial statements, liquidity, and operating performance.
• Prepare financial projections, sensitivity analyses, and peer‑industry comparisons.
• Collaborate with product partners in Capital Markets, Markets, Treasury & Trade Solutions, and Lending.
• Stay current on market trends, best practices, and competitive landscape within the metals and mining sector.

Required profile

• Intermediate‑level professional with strong interest in corporate banking and the metals & mining industry.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior client stakeholders such as CFOs and treasury officers.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
