Corporate Tax Senior Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Senior Manager to join a well‑established independent firm of chartered accountants in central Manchester. The role offers full portfolio ownership, from start‑ups to multi‑million‑pound groups, and provides a clear pathway towards Associate Director level.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, including owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and larger groups.
• Oversee corporate tax compliance, ensuring timely return submissions and handling quarterly instalments.
• Manage work‑in‑progress and billing processes across the portfolio.
• Advise on tax planning opportunities such as corporate structuring, R&D tax relief and capital allowances.
• Support complex advisory projects, tax due diligence, share valuations and international tax matters.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and manage tax risk.
• Develop and mentor junior team members, fostering their technical and professional growth.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary tax contact.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
• Minimum 5 years’ corporate tax experience in practice.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio independently.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues.
• Desire to progress to senior/associate director level.
