Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Tavistock)

About the role

We are looking for a resilient and adaptable Cover Supervisor to step into secondary school classrooms across Tavistock during short‑term teacher absences. You will keep pupils engaged, maintain a safe learning environment, and ensure continuity of learning without delivering formal teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Manage student behaviour in line with each school’s policies.
• Maintain pupil focus on tasks, offering support and clarification where needed.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns promptly.
• Record attendance, behaviour incidents, and completed work accurately.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings, year groups, and subject areas.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
