Credit Controller – Portfolio Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage a portfolio of customer accounts for a well‑established client in Manchester. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring payments are collected on time and queries are resolved efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding payments.
• Build strong relationships with customers, handling queries and disputes.
• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies and allocate cash.
• Issue invoices, statements, reminder letters and other account documentation.
• Monitor aged debt reports, lead arrears review meetings and report on collection performance.
• Collaborate with Finance and internal teams to resolve issues and improve collection KPIs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years recent experience in Credit Control or Sales Ledger.
• Strong account reconciliation and cash allocation abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
