Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join O2 Business in Nelson. The role focuses on identifying, analysing and mitigating cyber threats to protect sensitive data and maintain system integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to security alerts, escalations and incidents promptly.
• Oversee vulnerability scanning and validate patching effectiveness.
• Coordinate and support penetration testing initiatives.
• Monitor external threat sources and advise on emerging risks.
• Plan and execute patch management for internal systems and hardware.
• Recommend and assist with server hardening measures.
• Configure email and internet security solutions.
• Ensure security configurations comply with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus standards.

Required profile

• Experience working within a cyber security team.
• Involvement in project work, implementation and planning.
• Familiarity with vulnerability and exposure management processes.
