Demolition Project Manager – Structural Alterations

About the role

A large subcontractor delivering complex demolition, enabling works, structural alterations and heavy structural "cut and carve" schemes across inner-city London sites is seeking an experienced Demolition Project Manager. The role takes full responsibility for the safe, commercial and programme-driven delivery of projects from pre-construction to completion, acting as the main point of contact for clients and managing sub-contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high-profile demolition and major structural alteration projects from inception to handover
• Coordinate complex temporary works, propping, needling and detailed demolition sequencing plans
• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards, including method statements, RAMS and structural engineering designs
• Drive milestones so projects stay on time and within budget, working with commercial and surveying teams
• Liaise with clients, structural engineers, local authorities and other stakeholders
• Manage, mentor and coordinate site managers, supervisors and operations teams

Required profile

• CCDO Manager (Black Card) qualification
• SMSTS and First Aid at Work certification
• Proven track record as a Project Manager in the UK demolition and enabling works sector
• Experience with structural alterations, heavy propping, facade retention and concrete/steel cut and carve schemes
• Experience with tight inner-city London logistics, party wall constraints and complex stakeholder issues
• Valid UK driving licence

Required skills

• Technical literacy, including interpreting structural drawings and temporary works designs
• Project management and programme control
