Director Content Innovation

About the role

Springer Nature is looking for a Director of Content Innovation to shape the future of research publishing. Based in London with a hybrid working model, you will lead the creation of new research content types, AI‑enabled services and scalable innovations that drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify emerging customer needs and translate technology trends into innovation priorities.
• Design, prototype, test and transition high‑value content innovations across research publishing, technology, product, marketing and commercial teams.
• Provide practical leadership in applying agentic AI to improve content value, user experience and business impact.
• Define and guide the Content Innovation strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
• Collaborate with international, multicultural teams to scale successful experiments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in research publishing or a comparable high‑trust knowledge domain.
• Strong product and innovation mindset with a track record of turning ideas into measurable outcomes.
• Deep understanding of researcher, editor and institutional user needs.
• Proven ability to work across global markets and multicultural teams.
