Electrical Design Engineer – Gateshead

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a respected engineering organisation in Gateshead. The role involves delivering electrical design projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple design projects (5‑6 simultaneously), ensuring timely delivery and quality.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Develop practical, cost‑effective engineering solutions tailored to client needs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and project teams to ensure design effectiveness.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Electrical Design Engineer role.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for owning projects.
