Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly innovative engineering organisation delivering safety‑critical projects. The role offers a blend of design, validation and hands‑on testing, working from concept through to manufacture and test within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and development of electrical systems from concept to final manufacture.
• Undertake design validation through calculations and analysis to demonstrate compliance with requirements.
• Liaise with test facilities, suppliers, subcontractors and customers to support project delivery.
• Carry out hands‑on testing, prototyping and verification within an on‑site test facility.
• Produce and control engineering documentation, including drawings, test documents and bills of materials.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems design, build, test and commissioning.
• Experience producing design and technical specifications.
• Maritime or related industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
