Electrician – Residential Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a qualified electrician to join our team in the Croydon/Redhill area. The role is field‑based, focusing on the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems in new‑build residential properties for local authorities and housing providers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuse‑boards and other electrical components.
• Inspect and test electrical installations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Replace or repair faulty switches, outlets, light fittings and circuit breakers.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily repair targets.
• Communicate clearly with tenants about the nature of the work and expected outcomes.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and adhere to health‑and‑safety policies.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs, including out‑of‑hours shifts when required.
• Use company IT systems to log jobs, prioritise workload and record completion.

Required profile

• Qualified electrician with relevant NVQ certification.
• Proactive, reliable and able to travel up to one hour between job sites.
• Willing to work 42.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8‑5.
• Strong customer‑care attitude and ability to work safely.

Required skills

• Electrical installations and fault diagnosis.
• Circuit testing and compliance verification.
• Repair and replacement of switches, sockets, lighting fixtures and circuit breakers.
• Use of maintenance and scheduling IT systems.
