Electronic Test Engineer – Electrical Testing & QA

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electronic Test Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Braintree. The role will start before year‑end to allow a thorough handover from a retiring colleague, ensuring continuity of electrical testing and quality assurance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing and inspection of control panels, motors and cable assemblies, including large‑batch testing.
• Carry out live testing safely and accurately, documenting results and maintaining test records.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve faults and non‑conformances to meet company and customer standards.
• Conduct mechanical inspections where required and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production and quality teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical testing and inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic capabilities.
• Good understanding of electrical safety procedures.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent) – desirable.
