English Lecturer – GCSE, Functional Skills & A-Level

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Lecturer to join a leading further education provider in Greater Manchester on a temporary full‑time basis. You will deliver high‑quality teaching across GCSE, Functional Skills (Entry to Level 2) and A‑Level English, inspiring learners to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and supporting learning materials.
• Mark assignments, provide constructive feedback and monitor learner progress.
• Support students with exam preparation and resit processes.

Required profile

• UK‑recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS/PGDE or equivalent).
• Degree or relevant qualification in English or a related subject.
• Proven experience teaching GCSE, Functional Skills or A‑Level English.
• Willingness to undergo DBS check and mandatory safeguarding training.
