About the role
We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join an Outstanding secondary school in Upminster for the Autumn term. This full‑time, 14‑week placement runs from September to December 2026 and offers a supportive, well‑resourced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils.
- Follow the existing timetable, using pre‑planned resources and schemes of work.
- Maintain high standards of student progress, behaviour and engagement.
- Collaborate with the English department and contribute to a positive faculty culture.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Ability to adapt quickly and make an immediate impact in a short‑term placement.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in delivering English Language curriculum.
- Proficiency in delivering English Literature curriculum.
