About the role
We are partnering with a secondary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire to recruit an enthusiastic English Teacher (ECTs welcome) to start in September 2026. This full‑time position involves delivering engaging English lessons to secondary pupils and contributing to a supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality English lessons that meet curriculum standards and drive student achievement.
- Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s ethos.
- Create a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE in English (ECTs welcome).
- Proven ability to deliver engaging lessons and achieve strong student outcomes.
- Passion for English literature and language with the capacity to inspire pupils.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Required skills
- Curriculum planning and lesson design for English.
- Classroom management and behaviour support.
- Assessment and feedback techniques.
What we offer
- Competitive salary between £34,398 and £52,490 per annum (M1‑UPS3).
