Existing Business Trading Underwriter

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing MGA that now controls over £100m in gross written premium. The role is based in Manchester city centre and works on a hybrid basis, focusing on existing business trading and renewal management.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain broker relationships by delivering high‑quality customer service and meeting renewal SLA targets.
• Review, trade and invite renewals across all product lines within the underwriting appetite and strategy.
• Handle renewal queries, mid‑term adjustments and cancellations for brokers and clients.
• Manage large renewal cases exceeding £5,000.
• Support Underwriting Assistants through training and referral guidance.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of Property & Casualty underwriting experience in a commercial environment.
• Strong relationship‑building abilities and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
