Experienced Behavior Mentor – Outreach & Intervention

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our team and deliver outreach, engagement and intervention support to secondary‑aged pupils at risk of exclusion or disengagement. You will work across schools in North East and Mid Essex, building trusting relationships with students, families and partner agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group sessions focused on social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents and external agencies to improve pupil engagement and reduce exclusions.
• Design and implement tailored support plans for young people with additional needs.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to multi‑agency meetings.
• Promote trauma‑informed approaches and positive outcomes for every student.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with secondary‑aged young people in education, youth work, social care or alternative provision.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management, SEMH and trauma‑informed practice.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing a varied caseload.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
