Finance Assistant (Part‑time, 6‑month contract)

About the role

This six‑month fixed‑term position supports the Finance Manager of a specialist technology manufacturer. Working part‑time (20‑22 hours per week) in Laughton, you will help ensure the finance function runs accurately and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting systems, processes and procedures to keep records accurate and compliant.
• Perform bank, petty cash, foreign cash and credit‑card reconciliations, including employee expense claims.
• Prepare and update journals, registers, reconciliations and accounting schedules.
• Produce weekly and monthly management reports for local and Group Head Office.
• Support accounts receivable through invoice processing, reporting and filing.
• Provide purchase ledger cover, assist with year‑end audit tasks and offer ad‑hoc support to the Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bookkeeping, AAT or equivalent practical finance qualification.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Strong numeracy, organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills and a dependable approach to financial administration.

• Experience with accounting software; SAP Business One knowledge is a plus.
