Finance Manager – Cost Accounting (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Finance Manager with a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week on site at our Harwich location, and involves partnering with senior commercial managers to drive financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Management accounting, sales & profitability analysis and reporting.
• Process order settlement and capitalised overhead allocations.
• Utility and variable cost reporting.
• Inventory accounting and month‑end/year‑end financial control for the Harwich site.
• UK costing runs for standard and actual costs.
• Working capital, fixed assets and lease analysis and reporting.
• Variance analysis of fixed production costs against plan and forecast.
• Finance business partnering – support senior commercial managers with profitability analysis.
• Support plan and forecast processes, including CAPEX and OPEX.
• Lead auditor requests, stock counts and financial reconciliation of inventory.

Required profile

• Strong IT and analytical abilities, particularly with MS Excel.
• Basic proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
• Previous costing and general‑ledger experience in a process‑manufacturing setting.
• Flexible, resilient and proactive with an analytical, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well‑organized, able to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
