Finance Manager – Educational Trust (South West London)

About the role

This permanent, office‑based position supports the Director of Finance of an educational trust located in South West London. The Finance Manager will ensure accurate, compliant financial management across multiple institutions and provide insight to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Line‑manage Finance Officer(s) and oversee day‑to‑day finance operations.
• Approve purchase orders, invoices and BACS payment runs.
• Lead month‑end processes, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial close.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial re‑forecasts.
• Support annual budgeting, three‑year financial planning and monitor performance against budgets.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies and controls.
• Assist procurement, value‑for‑money initiatives and audit activities.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to aid strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, reporting and financial controls.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commitment to high accuracy, continuous improvement and safeguarding of children and young people.

Required skills

• Experience with PS Financials.
• Familiarity with Arbor.
• Knowledge of IMP.
• Use of Edupay.
