Finance Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading UK transportation business, is seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to join their office near Runcorn. Reporting to the Finance Director and leading a team of three, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and manage cash‑flow, accounts payable and receivable.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver insightful financial analysis for strategic decisions.
• Support audit processes, liaise with external auditors and maintain robust financial controls.
• Develop and enforce financial policies that promote transparency and accountability.
• Mentor junior finance staff and drive continuous improvement in finance operations.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, VAT returns and other statutory obligations.
• Work with senior management to shape long‑term financial strategies aligned with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management within a commercial or industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex budgets.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
