Financial Accountant – 12 month contract

About the role
We are supporting a growing London‑based energy company that requires a Financial Accountant on a 12‑month contract. Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will join the finance team and take ownership of day‑to‑day finance operations.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger for the UK and Europe.
- Lead the month‑end close process.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee daily finance operations, including journal postings.
- Analyse accounting treatments under IFRS.
- Support the audit process.
- Identify process improvements and implement controls.
- Perform ad‑hoc finance duties as required.
Required profile
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and bookkeeping experience.
- Hands‑on experience of end‑to‑end accounting processes.
- Good communication skills.
Required skills
- IFRS (including standards 9 and 16).
- Advanced Excel.
- Bookkeeping.
