Financial Accountant – 12‑Month Assignment (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑known consumer brand to hire a Financial Accountant for an initial 12‑month assignment, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days remote, and offers flexibility to work either on a fixed‑term contract or a day‑rate through an umbrella company.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant across the financial accounting function.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate historic accounting issues.
• Support month‑end and year‑end financial accounting activities, including audit schedules and auditor queries.
• Handle lease accounting and related reconciliations.
• Identify and resolve balance‑sheet discrepancies and improve accounting controls.
• Review existing processes, enhance accuracy and integrity of financial information, and own issue resolution.
• Assist the wider finance team with ad‑hoc accounting projects.

Required profile

• Qualified, Part‑Qualified or Qualified‑by‑Experience (QBE) accounting background.
• Strong hands‑on financial accounting experience, including balance‑sheet work.
• Experience supporting year‑end audit and liaising with external auditors.
• Knowledge of lease accounting and historic issue resolution.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior finance team members.
