Financial Accountant – 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Altum Consulting is seeking a Financial Accountant on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to support a large media business in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for head‑office accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own head‑office accounting for a cost base of approximately £20 million, including actuals, budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare and provide financial information for tax and audit purposes.
• Liaise with AR/AP teams to manage invoices, inter‑company recharges and netting arrangements.
• Review and consolidate month‑end reporting packages from European markets.
• Validate market balance sheets and support divisional balance‑sheet submissions to the US head office.
• Manage divisional SOX reporting and provide guidance to local finance teams.
• Oversee transfer‑pricing charge‑outs and support ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• ACA qualified (or equivalent) and trained within a Big 4 accounting firm.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly US GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong Excel proficiency.
