Financial Controller

About the role

We are a fast‑growing international luxury consumer brand seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead core finance operations from our Central London office. The role offers high visibility with the CEO and fractional CFO, providing a platform to fast‑track your career in a dynamic, multi‑entity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts across multiple entities and deliver clear performance analysis.
• Explain variances against budget and prior periods to support decision‑making.
• Lead month‑end close, including full balance‑sheet reconciliations (debtors, creditors, cash, inter‑company).
• Manage accruals, pre‑payments, and fixed‑asset registers.
• Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Partner with non‑finance stakeholders to provide financial insight.
• Oversee payroll activities and maintain short‑term cash‑flow forecasts.
• Manage receivables and payables to optimise working capital.
• Ensure timely tax submissions and statutory compliance.
• Liaise with external advisors on international filings and reporting.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Support implementation of finance or inventory systems.
• Supervise and develop junior finance team members.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in retail, FMCG or consumer‑facing businesses is advantageous.
• Strong background in management accounting and financial control.
• Experience in SMEs or fast‑growing businesses.
• Familiarity with multi‑entity or multi‑currency environments.
• Confident in cash‑flow management, forecasting and reconciliations.
