Financial Controller

About the role

Systemiq is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its global finance team from London. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will own month‑end and year‑end reporting for UK and overseas subsidiaries and ensure accurate consolidated financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Own global monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory reporting.
• Manage period‑end accounting, consolidation and preparation of statutory accounts.
• Lead the annual group audit, act as primary contact for auditors and ensure timely delivery.
• File mandatory financial statements and tax returns (CIT, VAT) for all subsidiaries in collaboration with local accountants.
• Oversee local audits, compliance matters, statutory accounting, tax laws and transfer‑pricing issues.
• Maintain internal controls, approve banking transactions and supervise accounts payable/payable processes.
• Lead a dispersed team of local finance professionals and work closely with legal counsel on governance and risk matters.
• Assess and improve existing finance systems, processes and procedures to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• Practice‑trained finance background with experience in multinational environments.
• Proven ability to manage complex statutory, tax and audit requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong leadership skills to guide a small, geographically dispersed finance team.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial organization focused on sustainability.
