Financial Controller – SaaS Startup

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing SaaS technology start‑up in London, is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to join the leadership team. The role combines strategic finance with hands‑on operational execution, working closely with founders, senior leaders and investors to drive the business forward.

Key responsibilities

• Own the finance function and act as a trusted business partner across the organisation.
• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, including monthly management accounts, forecasts and board reporting packs.
• Support budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and broader financial planning activities.
• Collaborate with investors on fundraising, investor reporting and due‑diligence processes.
• Provide commercial insight to support decision‑making and improve financial controls, systems and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a start‑up, scale‑up or SME environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and commercial focus.
• Excellent communication skills for regular interaction with founders, senior leadership, board members and external investors.
