Fractional Finance Director

About the role

This is a six‑month fractional appointment (2‑4 days a week) reporting directly to the founders of a fast‑growing, private‑equity‑backed recruitment business in Central London. You will act as the primary finance contact for the Board and the PE investor, driving commercial finance, reporting and transaction readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Rebuild rolling cash‑flow forecasts and improve working‑capital visibility.
• Redesign monthly management accounts, Board packs and investor reporting.
• Develop KPI dashboards covering revenue, EBITDA, margin, consultant productivity, contractor performance and cash generation.
• Partner with founders and the private‑equity investor to provide commercial insight and financial challenge.
• Oversee the outsourced finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling and long‑term financial planning.
• Analyse business performance and profitability to inform strategic decisions.
• Enhance finance processes, controls, governance and reporting quality.
• Prepare the business for a potential transaction, including financial due diligence and Quality of Earnings work.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience as a Finance Director or CFO in a PE‑backed, high‑growth environment.
• Ability to operate autonomously and influence senior stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering practical finance improvements and supporting exit transactions.
