Gas Service Engineer / Meter Installer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Gas Service Engineer / Meter Installer to deliver engineering services and emergency response support to customers across Carlisle and surrounding rural areas. The role is home‑based with regular travel to customer sites and includes training to service LPG tanks, pipework and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain bulk LPG tanks and associated assets at customer sites.
• Travel throughout the region to meet customer service standards, primarily serving rural customers.
• Participate in a standby rota to respond to gas emergencies outside normal working hours.
• Use a company van and fuel provided for travel.

Required profile

• ACS Gas qualified.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Experience providing excellent customer service.
• Relevant gas engineering experience (advantageous).
• Knowledge of LPG installation and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks and cylinders (beneficial).
• Good understanding of relevant legislation, industry standards and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately.
• Willingness to undertake specialist industry training.
