About the role
You will join a well‑regarded mixed secondary school in East Ham to deliver Geography lessons for students aged 11‑16. The role combines pre‑planned curriculum delivery with the flexibility to adapt lessons during the first four weeks and then transition into a hybrid schedule of Geography teaching and general cover across the school.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Geography lessons that explore physical and human environments.
- Promote global awareness and encourage curiosity about the world.
- Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback.
- Support fieldwork activities where applicable.
- Promote STEM careers related to Geography.
- Occasionally cover other subjects across the school as required.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Geography and ability to teach KS3 and KS4.
- Proven classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt and reflect on provided lesson plans.
- Geography or Humanities‑based university degree.
- Relevant teaching experience across a range of year groups.
