Government, Multilateral and Climate Funding Manager

About the role

Christian Aid is seeking a Government, Multilateral and Climate Funding Manager to lead the growth of income and impact through strategic partnerships with government bodies, multilateral institutions and climate finance mechanisms. Reporting to the Partnership and Business Development Lead, you will shape and execute a long‑term funding strategy that aligns with our climate justice commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic framework to engage and deepen relationships with government, multilateral and climate funding partners, including the Green Climate Fund, Adaptation Fund, UN agencies, World Bank climate windows and bilateral donors.
• Co‑lead the preparation and submission of multi‑year, multi‑million funding bids in collaboration with MCCs and Global Programmes teams.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of funding opportunities that match organisational priorities and climate justice goals.
• Work closely with Heads of Impact and other senior leaders to ensure alignment of funding proposals with programme outcomes.
• Monitor and report on funding performance, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in securing large‑scale government, multilateral or climate finance.
• Strong understanding of climate finance instruments such as adaptation, resilience, loss and damage, and nature‑based solutions.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into successful funding proposals.
