Graduate Embedded Software Engineer – R&D

About the role

Join Innovative Technology’s Research & Development team in Oldham as a Graduate Embedded Software Engineer. You will work on firmware and embedded software for a range of products, gaining hands‑on experience alongside seasoned engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, testing and maintaining embedded software for ITL products.
• Support the creation of PC tools and configuration software used with the hardware.
• Apply source‑control, release procedures and coding standards.
• Document product designs, test records and software development artefacts.
• Investigate software issues, propose causes and collaborate on solutions.
• Participate in feasibility studies for new concepts and product improvements.
• Understand hardware constraints and how software interacts with embedded systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to clarify requirements and meet project timelines.
• Take part in code reviews, design discussions and team learning activities.

Required profile

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• Strong interest in firmware, microcontrollers and electronics.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions and develop technical skills within a supportive team.
