Graduate Mental Health Assistant

About the role
This graduate position supports a primary school in Aylesbury by assisting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and mental‑health challenges. It is designed for recent graduates who wish to gain practical experience before pursuing further study or professional qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, or related fields.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day support to pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD, and behavioural difficulties.
- Assist classroom staff in implementing individualized support plans.
- Monitor and record pupils' progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with SEN professionals to adapt activities and resources.
- Maintain a consistent, safe, and supportive classroom environment throughout the academic year.
Required profile
- Recent graduate (or final‑year student) in Psychology, Criminology or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in child mental health, education, or youth work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, patience and emotional resilience.
- Willingness to commit to the full academic year.
