Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Group Financial Controller to join the leadership team of a fast‑growing, PE‑backed FinTech business. This senior position will oversee financial control and reporting across multiple entities, supporting the company’s international expansion and product innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group financial control and reporting function across multiple entities.
• Own monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, including Group consolidations under IFRS.
• Maintain robust financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Manage year‑end audits, statutory accounts, tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting and strategic decisions.
• Drive finance transformation, process automation and system improvements to support scale.
• Support M&A, fundraising and acquisition integration activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Significant post‑qualified experience in FinTech, financial services, payments, lending or a regulated environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and Group consolidations.
• Experience managing external audits and statutory reporting.
• Proven track record of implementing controls and improving finance processes.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at Board level.
• Experience in a high‑growth, private‑equity‑backed or venture‑backed business is a plus.
• FCA‑regulated business experience is desirable.
