Head Chef

About the role

As Head Chef at Stanely Park Care Home you will own the kitchen operation, delivering high‑quality, nutritious meals for residents in a modern 40‑bed facility. You will lead a small team, ensuring food safety, dietary compliance and a pleasant dining experience while enjoying a balanced, consistent work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus and prepare meals that meet individual dietary requirements and nutritional standards.
• Manage stock, ordering, and budgets to control costs and minimise waste.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Lead, train and develop kitchen staff to achieve high performance and motivation.
• Oversee kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance and health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Proven experience leading or managing a kitchen environment.
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety.
• Proactive, reliable and quality‑focused approach.
