Head of Facilities & Building Compliance

About the role

Buzzworks is looking for a senior leader to head facilities and building compliance across its growing portfolio of venues in Scotland. You will be responsible for the safety, maintenance and regulatory performance of the entire estate while supporting new openings and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long‑term maintenance and asset‑management strategy for all venues.
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance programmes and ensure compliance with fire safety, gas, electrical, legionella, asbestos and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Implement modern facilities systems and digital compliance platforms, introducing reporting dashboards and audit frameworks.
• Support new venue openings and acquisitions, guaranteeing operational readiness and compliance from day one.
• Lead, develop and motivate the maintenance and facilities team, fostering a proactive, solution‑focused culture.
• Manage contractor relationships, service standards and maintenance budgets.
• Drive continuous improvement through smarter planning, reporting and operational processes.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in facilities management or building compliance, preferably within hospitality or multi‑venue environments.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance areas such as fire safety, gas, electrical, legionella, asbestos and health & safety.
• Ability to shape infrastructure to support venues with rooms and accommodation‑led operations.
• Experience managing large budgets and external contractor networks.
• Track record of delivering digital transformation and data‑driven reporting.
