Highways & Planning Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Highways & Planning Lawyer to join our team in Reigate on a full‑time, temporary basis. The role involves providing specialist legal advice on planning, highways and related local‑government matters for a range of infrastructure and development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on planning, highways and local government issues.
• Draft, negotiate and finalise Section 106, Section 38 and Section 278 agreements, highway dedication and stopping‑up orders, and other infrastructure and development agreements.
• Advise on planning applications, appeals, enforcement actions and judicial review matters.
• Represent the organisation in negotiations, meetings, tribunals and court proceedings as required.
• Support regeneration, housing and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
• Manage a varied caseload independently while delivering excellent client service.
• Assist in developing legal policies, procedures and best‑practice guidance.
