HPC System Administrator

About the role

Lenovo is seeking an experienced HPC System Administrator to join its Managed Services team in London. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of high‑performance computing infrastructure that supports our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and manage physical data‑center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network connectivity.
• Debug and troubleshoot hardware and system software issues.
• Respond to alerts, perform preventative maintenance, and roll out firmware and software upgrades.
• Minimize downtime and optimize data availability through corrective and preventive actions.
• Test and validate software, firmware, and security patches before deployment.

Required profile

• Strong experience working in Linux environments (SUSE, RHEL, CentOS).
• Hands‑on experience with HPC workload managers such as Slurm and PBS Pro.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Familiarity with distributed storage solutions (GPFS, Weka, DDN, NFS, SMB).
