HR Advisor – Manufacturing Company

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join a fast‑paced manufacturing organisation. You will provide expert HR support across the full employee lifecycle and partner with managers to deliver effective people solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance management.
• Support managers in applying company policies, procedures and UK employment legislation consistently.
• Coordinate recruitment activities – advertising vacancies, shortlisting, arranging interviews and supporting selection.
• Manage onboarding processes, including inductions, probation reviews and new starter administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring GDPR compliance.
• Process employee lifecycle administration such as starters, leavers, contractual changes, pensions and right‑to‑work documentation.
• Liaise with payroll to communicate employee changes within required deadlines.
• Support absence management, occupational health referrals, return‑to‑work meetings and wellbeing initiatives.
• Prepare HR documentation, reports and management information using HR systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Promote employee engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion across the business.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HR Advisor or in a similar generalist HR role.
• Strong employee‑relations experience with cases taken through to conclusion.
• Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and HR administration.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment is desirable.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or progress towards a CIPD qualification is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Competitive salary between £39k and £50k, dependent on experience.
