HR Apprentice – Entry‑Level Soldier Role

About the role

The British Army is looking for motivated individuals to start a career as an HR Apprentice. No prior experience is required – you will receive full training in human resources while serving as a full‑time soldier.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Army’s HR functions, including personnel administration and welfare.
• Travel with your unit to domestic and overseas locations as required.
• Undertake formal HR and Business Administration qualifications up to degree level.
• Assist senior HR staff and contribute to the delivery of HR services across the force.

Required profile

• Age between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months.
• Pass a basic fitness test.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A‑D / 9‑3 in English Language and Maths.
• Commitment to full‑time military service.

• None specified – training will be provided.

What we offer

• Starting salary of £27,282 per year during initial training.
• Potential to reach Corporal rank within 5 years with a salary of up to £40,989.
• 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and additional leave after operations.
