HR Manager / HR Lead – Head of HR (Financial Services)

About the role

This is a hybrid, full‑time position leading the HR function for a fast‑growing financial services business in Leeds. For the first two years you will own day‑to‑day HR operations, while also shaping a future Group HR model that could evolve into a Group Head of HR role. You will partner closely with senior leaders to deliver commercially focused people solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing HR team.
• Own the full generalist HR remit – recruitment, performance, policy, legislation and employee support.
• Provide expert guidance on employee‑relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolutions.
• Design and deliver training programmes that build core skills and a learning culture.
• Drive organisational change initiatives, including restructures and consultation processes.
• Monitor team performance, productivity and service quality to ensure cost‑effective delivery.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 (Level 7 desirable) with proven experience leading an HR team.
• Strong generalist background, especially in employee relations, performance management and development planning.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment; financial services experience is a plus.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance people and business needs.
• Ambition to progress into a future Group‑level HR leadership role.
