HR Manager – Social Care Charity

About the role

Our client, a leading social care charity with 350 staff across Tyne & Wear, is looking for an HR Manager to shape HR strategy and support organisational goals. You will lead a small HR team and drive initiatives that enhance employee experience and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Set direction for hiring, performance appraisal, development and compensation.
• Manage and mentor two HR Co‑ordinators.
• Collaborate with the IT Lead on the digital HR information system.
• Lead employee engagement, learning & development, health & wellbeing and workplace culture.
• Oversee absence management, recruitment, policy updates and employee relations.
• Handle payroll, disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations and redundancies.
• Produce monthly HR reports for the Directorate.

Required profile

• Level 5 CIPD qualification.
• HR Generalist experience, preferably within the social care sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
• Experience with digital HR information systems.
