Human Resources Advisor

About the role

The Human Resources Advisor will provide essential support across the employee lifecycle, acting as the first point of contact for HR queries and delivering accurate advice to both employees and managers. This role is ideal for a proactive HR professional who enjoys variety and wants to contribute to a collaborative, innovative culture within a leading food‑industry manufacturer.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive HR support and act as first point of contact for HR queries
• Advise line managers on HR policy, best practice and compliance
• Coordinate HR administration processes and maintain accurate HR and training records
• Prepare HR metrics and business reports
• Lead absence management activities
• Manage HR and payroll systems
• Support strategic HR initiatives and projects
• Promote employee engagement and wellbeing projects

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with sound judgement and confidentiality
• Collaborative, adaptable and solution‑focused team player
• Proactive, innovative mindset with genuine interest in HR success
• Solid understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practices
• Demonstrated experience in a generalist HR role covering a broad range of activities
• Experience in a unionised environment is advantageous
• Background in manufacturing or industrial settings is highly desirable
• Educated to further or higher education level in Human Resources, Business or related field
• CIPD Level 5 membership (or working towards) is desirable
