Human Resources Manager

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for the new luxury hotel opening in Canary Wharf. The role will be based on‑site and will support the General Manager and department heads in delivering exceptional guest and employee experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the dedicated on‑site HR lead, providing hands‑on support and guidance to managers and teams.
• Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to deliver proactive HR solutions that drive business performance.
• Manage employee relations, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and company policies.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, talent development and succession planning to attract and retain top talent.
• Drive colleague engagement, wellbeing and learning initiatives to foster an inclusive culture.
• Analyse people data and insights to identify trends and inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a generalist HR manager or similar role in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment such as hospitality or retail.
• Strong employee‑relations background with solid knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with confidence to support and challenge managers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy operational setting.
• CIPD qualification (or working towards one) is advantageous but not essential.

• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
